Beauty Tips for Brides and Grooms

Planning your wedding day can be the most stressful time of your life. In amongst all the scheduling and planning it is easy to neglect ourselves So here’s my top tips for both men and women to get yourself looking your best for your big day.

Leave an adequate amount of time

Time is of the essence and avoid feeling pressured into making dramatic changes at short notice before such a big event.

Do not make any Dramatic Last Minute Changes

One of the biggest requests from my clients is to get last minute results before a big event. I generally advise against this, particularly for first time users of advanced products.

As a general rule; refrain from injectable procedures for 4 weeks prior and avoid dramatic changes to your skincare within 6 weeks. This allows time for adequate time for your skin to adapt to changes.

I cannot emphasise enough the importance of the three basic steps of skincare – Cleanse, Hydrate and Protect.

Do Treat Your Skin

At the Skyn Doctor clinic we have created a bespoke Bridal Skin Prep regime. These treatments should start approximately 6-8 months prior to the wedding for maximum effect.

It begins with introducing collagen stimulation and resurfacing via micro needling. We only use Genuine Dermaroller as it has helped us achieve the most effective results.

The treatment works by penetrating the skin at a 90 degree angle and a depth of 1.5mm when treating the face and 2.5mm with the body. The collagen is stimulated to create a smoother, toned appearance and reduces fine lines, wrinkles and opens pores. It can also help treat hyperpigmentation and stretch marks.

Although it may seem daunting at first, you will be topically numbed prior to treatment and always treated by a professional.

These treatments take place at a minimum of 6-week intervals with approximately 3-4 treatments needed. The best results are typically seen up to 12 weeks post treatment.

To further brighten and rejuvenate the skin we would recommend skin peels such as Lactic and Glycolic acids which target cell turnover without excessive peeling and generally don’t involve a huge amount of downtime. A course of 4-6 peels in 4 week intervals will give maximum results, leaving you with a special glow on your wedding and also the perfect smooth canvas for make-up application.

Skyn Doctor would like to wish all the bride and grooms out there a fantastic day and we hope out top tips can help you feel even more fabulous on your special day.
